Miami HealthCoach, (HealthCoach), specializes in providing board-certified health & wellness coaching, nutrition intervention, and physical activity personal training services located in picturesque Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami Beach, Florida and in San Diego Coronado Island, Marina, Gaslamp, Little Italy districts and Solana Beach California. 

HealthCoach offers in-person one-on-one nutrition intervention consultations, and physical activity personal training services, as well as remote board-certified health & wellness coaching services through Zoom conferencing. Our convenient accommodation locations ensuring a comfortable and rejuvenating experience for our clients in both Coconut Grove, Miami Florida, and in sunny San Diego California. 

Understanding risk factors associated chronic metabolic disease syndromes such as with arthritis, diabetes, heart health and obesity are critical to understanding self-care needs. We we offer full cardiology examination and assessment services as part of our lifestyle wellness program through Baptist Hospital of Miami.

The HealthCoach App is a biometric tracking and HIPAA-compliant communication tool, utilized by a medical doctor, mental health expert and health coach. The App manages patient/client biomarker data (steps, weight, BMI, blood pressure, continuous blood glucose, heart rate and sleep) and, if desired, can be scaled to manage multiple health coaches, social workers and multiple medical practices/businesses. More than 1 in 3 adults – about 98 million Americans — have prediabetes, and 81% of them don’t know they have it.

About 38 million Americans have diabetes (about 1 in 10), and approximately 90-95% of them have type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes most often develops in people over age 45, but more and more children, teens, and young adults are also developing it.

The HealthCoach Diabetes Prevention Program protocols are evidence-based, and supported by certified diabetes lifestyle coaches, (DPP), and clinical studies that focus on modifying lifestyle changes that we each have control over.

Diet, physical activity, sleep and other aspects of our daily interaction with the environment have the potential to alter our mental health and brain wellness.

Emerging research on the pediatric microbiome implicates the importance of the microbiome on the development of the immune system, nervous system, and growth. The gut microbiome influences immunological, endocrine, and neural pathways and plays an important role in infant development.

Patients with various psychiatric disorders including depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and autism spectrum disorder have been shown to have significant differences in the composition of their gut microbiome. Enhancing beneficial bacteria in the gut and reducing GI Inflammation can improve mental health.

Board Certified Health & Wellness Coaching is available via remote Zoom coaching.

The Science of HealthCoach

HealthCoach Lifestyle Wellness Program is supported by evidence-based science. 

There has been a dramatic shift in the leading causes of death in the US in the past 100 years. Whereas infectious diseases were the primary cause of death in the early 20th century, cardiovascular disease and cancer have now assumed dominance in mortality.

Metabolic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, hypertension and even neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s which all have common factors.

Five key factors that are facilitating the rise and development of chronic metabolic diseases and mental health issues in Americans are – malnutrition, lack of physical activity, how well you sleep, the lack of diversity in healthy gut microbes leading to gut dysbiosis, and stress leading to an unhealthy positive mindset.

A study from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health found that 50 -year-old women, who maintained five healthy habits — exercising at least 30 minutes a day, following a healthy diet, maintaining a body mass index in the normal range, having no more than one serving of alcohol a day, and not smoking — lived on average 10.7 more years free of diseases, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer, compared with initially healthy women who practiced none of those habits at age 50.
